Aqua expressed their excitement about the tour, saying, "We've been working for this for 27 years! Performing two sold out shows in NYC and L.A. this summer was a dream come true, and to be able to come back soon for a nation-wide tour is absolutely insane. We cannot wait to meet everyone for the first time, face to face."
This tour is particularly special for Aqua as it coincides with the resurgence of their 1997 hit song "Barbie Girl." The song gained new popularity thanks to its inclusion in the mega blockbuster Barbie movie, which has been a massive success with a box-office total of $1.3 billion. Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice's "Barbie World" song from the movie's soundtrack sampled Aqua's "Barbie Girl." The new track, on which Aqua is credited, debuted at No. 7 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart dated July 8. This marked Nicki Minaj's 23rd top-10 hit and Aqua's second.
