Contrary to rumors circulating on various social media platforms, there is no truth to the claim that Instagram will be shut down in 2023. Rest assured, users of Instagram and Facebook can breathe a sigh of relief as Meta, the parent company, has no intentions of permanently closing down the popular photo-sharing platform. However, it's worth noting that certain TikTok posts have propagated the notion that Instagram's demise is imminent, specifically pinpointing July 28, 2023, as the supposed shutdown date.

These rumors gained traction on Twitter as well, with tweets echoing the same sentiment that Instagram is destined for closure. The speculation intensified when a few news articles mentioned that Meta was "considering" shutting down Instagram solely in Europe. Regarding the reported $1.3 billion fine, Mark Zuckerberg's company has issued a statement confirming their plan to appeal the decision.
