Ready or Not Twisted Nerve Guide

Ready or Not mission "Twisted Nerve" throws players into a high-stakes raid on a suspected meth operation. In this level, you'll navigate through tight spaces filled with drugged-up adversaries, meth producers, and their hired muscle. It's not the toughest mission, but finding objectives can be tricky due to clutter in the houses.

First House Objectives

The initial house, on the left, holds three key objectives: an incapacitated minor, a money stash, and the meth storage. These objectives are conveniently close together. Begin by breaching the main door, clearing the first floor, and handling suspects in the guest and living rooms. Use an optiwand for cautious room checks. Move upstairs. All three objectives reside near the hallway behind the staircase. The left room houses the meth storage, the right one holds the money stash, and the end-of-hall room leads to the incapacitated child. Clear these rooms, tag objectives, then consider clearing backrooms downstairs before proceeding to the next house.

Second House: Crystal Meth Labs

From the first house's second floor, spot the initial crystal meth lab. Clear it and don't forget to check the attic. Move into the hallway. The second meth lab is directly opposite the first. Open the left door, interact with the meth-cooking setup by the window, then meticulously clear the rest of the area to complete the mission. Unlike earlier versions, meth packages don't need hunting down in Twisted Nerve anymore.

A few tips to navigate the mission more efficiently include checking under beds for hidden individuals, refraining from using flashbangs in the minor's room, opting for shotguns aimed at the upper chest for quicker takedowns, being cautious of civilians wielding knives, and wearing heavy ceramic armor for increased survival chances in gunfights along lengthy corridors.

This game came out in different stages. First, it was available on Steam early access in December 2021. Then, it fully released in December 2023. People who played it liked the feeling of the game and how it plays. They said it feels a lot like the old SWAT games from a company called Sierra Entertainment, which many folks enjoyed. The game got attention for its atmosphere and the way it makes players think about how they approach different situations in the game.

Ready or Not Gameplay

"Ready or Not" is all about being part of a SWAT team and taking down bad guys. In this game, you play as David "Judge" Beaumont, the leader of the team. You've got a bunch of cool guns to choose from: rifles, submachine guns, shotguns, and pistols. You can make them totally your own by adding scopes, attachments, and even silencers. You've also got gadgets like stun grenades and shields to help you out.

Since you're a cop, it's not just about blasting away. The game wants you to catch the bad guys alive. That means you've got options like tasers and pepper spray to take them down without causing too much harm. And when you arrest them instead of knocking them out, you get more points. But it's not always easy—the non-lethal stuff can sometimes cause unintended harm. When you deal with suspects, it's a smart move to handcuff them. Sometimes they'll fake being out cold and then try to surprise you, so you've got to be careful. The game advises you to aim at the body's center if you have to use lethal force.

Ready or Not Development

The journey of making "Ready or Not" began way back in June 2016. They got folks excited by showing off a trailer on YouTube in May 2017, giving everyone a taste of what was coming. But before the big release, they let a special group of supporters try out an early version of the game in August 2019.

Then, things got even more exciting in April 2020 when they invited these supporters and some YouTubers to test out a special part of the game where players face off against each other. They could share what they saw and got players even more pumped up. Finally, the game hit the scene on Steam Early Access on December 17, 2021. They made some major changes for this final release.

They worked on improving the non-lethal gear, paying more attention to the mental health of the cops in the game, and making different law enforcement teams work together better. Plus, they made the cops in the game have more unique personalities. In this final version, the computer-controlled characters got smarter. They can now do things on their own, like catch suspects and find cover, without needing players to give them constant instructions just like in the old SWAT 3 game.
